The Witching Hour
GENERAL OVERVIEW。 Every Sunday at Zero Hour the clocks all strike midnight and stay there the entire duration as the hour drags on. At the last chime, nuclear sirens begin to ricochet through the streets. During this hour all sources of light are extinguished. This includes any power that produces light that someone may have such as light sabers, fire power, or the like. Anything that produces light cannot and does not work. There are no flashlights. There are no fires. Torches die out. Candles are unlit. The only light is the light of the moon which is always full. Venturing outside during the Witching Hour is dangerous. The fog is thick and enveloping. It seems to surround you and wrap around you stirring fears and horrors. Sometimes you will hear whispers that call to the fancies of your darkest desires but once you give in to them you will lose yourself wholly to them and stop at nothing to satisfy it... but it cannot be satisfied. LOCATIONS。 THE MANSION。 During the Witching Hour, the Mansion seems to take a life of its own. Statues seem to move with their heads turning to watch you as you pass them. Portraits feel as though they whisper taunts in your ear as you pass them; mocking you for your weaknesses. The floors beneath you creak and moan. Sometimes you will hear a child crying and manic laughs of a woman but you cannot find its source. While it can be a psychological and emotional ride, it will always be safe from outside danger. Your fellow mates are a different story though. THE SWAMPS。 Should your character venture toward the swamp they will hear bubbling. From the murky red water come the bodies all dismantled and put together. Some will have three legs and an arm out of their back, some will have no arms. They cannot get very far out and away from the swamp and they move slow but their eyes pierce the fog and once you see them, they see you. Once they see you, they paralyze your feet into place (although the rest of you can move). If you cannot defend yourself they will tear you apart and eat you. THE GRAVES。 If you wander across the graves that are covered and concealed something will pull you down. It is possible to escape but difficult. It is impossible to determine who or what is pulling you even if you escape and if you do not, you will suffocate and die. CREATURES。 THE SWAMP PEOPLE。 The swamp people are mentioned above. They are poorly put together remnants of various body parts but they always have a head. Their hearing is impeccable and their eyes can paralyze any being's feet in place. However, they are slow and they are not impossible to defeat but if they get you they will each you alive. More to come. |
