"What sort of resources can characters find in the city?
Except for the food that mysteriously replenishes in the kitchen of the mansion, you're going to be hard pressed to find anything of value. That said however, "
Seems like the answer to that question on the FAQ got left incomplete by mistake!
But now for my real question: I'm considering bringing in this lady who has a particular canon ability I want to run by you guys before doing anything else. In her canon, she has the ability to turn people into what are called Freaks or Gloomers (they look like this (warning for creepy picture) and their eye sockets glow bright blue when they're looking for something and red when they've found it). She does this unconsciously for most of the game (she's drugged out of her mind and unaware of her surroundings), but very much deliberately toward the end, and it's implied it's a permanent state (it's also implied her blood cures it, but neither conclusion is shown for sure). This obviously wouldn't be an ability she'd use regularly, and I might be jumping the gun here, but would it ever be possible to use something like that as a player-plot, provided it can mesh with or at least doesn't puncture your meta-plot?

THANK YOU for pointing this out. Gosh, lol. We'll get in it soon.
As for your question: yes, your character may retain this ability. However you have to obtain permission from other players of course. Also, as things start revealing itself we would love to work out a player plot with you.
